Wedding 101

One of the scariest things for most of my brides when they start the wedding planning process is the budget. I’m here to tell you weddings can cost a simple amount and a luxurious amount so it is good to figure out a budget before you start planning.

Here are some tips that I have learned along the way.

1. Real Flowers are expensive. If you go to a florist and they are willing to do roses for your wedding for less than $4000 in October they may be newer and trying to get social media presence or they are just doing it for fun. Why do I say this? real florals are EXPENSIVE to purchase, transport, and keep watered. They break easily and fall is not exactly a breeding ground for perfect roses.

2. Alcohol and finger foods can go quickly so always purchase more than what you think you need. If you have a really small wedding this may not be a big factor. However most people invest a lot of money into these events for people - they are lavish parties And the last thing you want to do is have a “wine runner”

3. Get a travel agent for your room blocks. It saves your money and keeps someone ready on the go for when all of your guests come into town. They also negotiate more discounts for you!

4. Most of your guests won’t sign the guestbook signage. I’m so sorry to break this to you - but I can’t tell you the amount of people who skip this the day of - just don’t have your heart broken when you spend $2000 on your guestbook table. Have everyone sign something at their tables while they eat 💥

5. Get a coordinator. Please it doesn’t even have to be me but just get someone. You spend a ton of money on a photographer, your dress, your venue, your food, and then you want to run around the whole day and expect the photographer to get amazing photos? Absolutely not!

do this- it’s worth it I promise. You don’t have to kiss the bride/groom while you are signaling the DJ And photographer - you will thank me in the long run.
